Volunteers provide INCubatoredu students with industry expertise and a connection to the local community. With an active and engaged group of volunteers, students are truly connected to the real world of your community. Interested in volunteering:
COACH
16 lessons
As a Coach, your role is to conduct a classroom discussion/presentation with students on a particular business topic. You can choose the lesson that aligns with your area of business expertise, e.g. marketing, finance, sales and work closely with the teacher to ensure you have access to the materials needed while you are in the classroom. Coaches share with the students their experiences and provide real-world, practical context. Coaching topics are listed in the volunteer form.
MENTOR
1 mentor per team
As a mentor, your role is to work one-on-one with a team of students helping them create and fully develop their own product or service. Students will look to you for answers, but what they really need is help learning how to find the answers themselves. Mentoring can take place via face-to-face meetings, phone/video conferences, and/or email. Mentors will work with their team throughout the school year (September-May). In general, mentors will meet or communicate with their student teams weekly. The energy and effort will increase before key milestones such as the Minimum Viable Product Pitch near the academic year’s midpoint and at the year’s end for Investor Pitch.
BOARD OF ADVISORS MEMBER (aka “Judges”)
Minimum of 3, maximum of 5
The Board of Directors/Advisors is a group of volunteer business professionals and entrepreneurs who offer strategic direction to student teams. These volunteers will be in the classroom two times in the school year: MVP Pitch and Final Pitch (Academic and Live competition).
